In the mailbox today~
Yay for snail mails!
Diana sent me a cute card with a cute kitteh earrings from Papemelroti Unfortunately I develop this allergy to any form of accessories so I refuse to wear one unless I really have to. I tried it today but toinks! FAIL! Now my right ear is red and so painful. T.T
Pontian Wanton Mee
This wanton noodles originated in Pontian, Malaysia hence the name. It is by far, the best noodles i’ve tasted around the island. The place says the noodles are handmade, I guess that made it more tasty. Sooo good. It’s topped with Char Siew (roasted pork) with some fried dumplings and veggies and they will also give you a separate bowl of soup too. Nomnomnom. At $3 it’s definitely a win!
Popiah
I have been craving for Lumpiang Sariwa (vegetable roll/fresh egg roll) for months now. And I must thank the Aunties at work for introducing me Popiah. It is the real closest goodness to Lumpia!. (they’re probably just the same we just call it differently) It’s made of the thin paper-like wrapper stuffed with bean sprouts, lettuce, french beans, eggs, and some other veggies Im not sure of heh :) But before they put everything else on the wrapper, they put peanut sauce and the option for chili too. The ones I tried doesn’t have meat in it. But other hawkers have them with either pork, crab or shrimp.
It’s one of the best local food i’ve tried so far. I’m just not sure if there’s a fine resto serving them around the island. So if you feel a little adventurous with food the next time you’re in Singapore, try Popiah! Soooo goood!
(I have yet to dare myself on the different laksa and the famous rojak)
Dear Family in OZ,
Just wanna let you know that I’m not changing the bed sheets. I miss you guys so much. I never thought I’d be this sad after you left. I was able to stop myself from crying at the airport but not seeing you in the morning when I wake up is crazy. I wish we had more time together. I wouldn’t mind sleeping on the couch longer. I swear. I hate you at times for being so sweet, makes me miss LJ so much more. I hope I can visit you there too.
Much love,
Denbilita
Singapore Zam Zam- Murtabak FTW!

If you’re craving for some Indian-Muslim food around the island then Siingapore Zam Zam is a must-try. This famous food place has been here for over 90 years located at the heart of Arab St (technically it’s still part of North Bridge Rd) , just across the Sultan Mosque. Price ranges from SGD 5-8, quite cheap for a good food.

Nasi Briyani

Murtabak (choice of beef, deer, chicken, mutton or veggies)

The curry sauce can be so spicy so I always order Milo dinousaur (basically just a iced milo with milo powder on top)
I remember going here for the first time with Hanna, and we would be like, “OMG OMG” on every bite. Naks! The next time you look for a bizarre food adventure, don’t forget to visit Zam Zam Murtabak really FTW!
The Philippine’s Department of Tourism recently launched it’s new tourism ad campaign. Secretary Mon Jimenez being a big man of the Philippine advertising industry definitely know how branding (or rebranding perhaps?) is the key.
The slogan #itsmorefuninthePhilippines became a top trending topic worldwide on the launching day. They’ve been using social media in the past few days, report says traditional media and other BTL ad will follow in the next weeks.
There are some bashing comments about this campaign but i’d say it’ rather a big hit and indeed a strong campaign. As of date, not a single cent was spent on the campaign yet. They just gave birth to that one BIG idea and everyone did their part to prove how fun it is in our motherland. Everyone’s making their own internet meme. Like this and this
I myself, on my 21 (turning 22 lol) of existence haven’t been around the PH. The farthest I’ve been is the usual 12 hour bus ride going Bicol which if the folk’s hometown. I’m more than excited to travel and explore Philippines more! Yay to that!
It’s indeed more fun in the Philippines. In the meantime, back to regular programming here in Singaland ;)
Celebrated new year with my friends, Hanna and Marissa. We had steak and pasta. They prepared everything while I was still at work till 10pm. I’m glad to welcome the year with these wonderful people.
And the highlight of my NYE was the skype call from my family back home. It was the first time! It was soo overwhelming that I even forgot to take a screenshot of her that I usually do with friends.
Hello 2012. Let’s get it on!
